We are surrounded by the space in which we occupy, and we are the ones who decide its value.

Landscape, 2021, mixed media, pencil & oil pastel on paper, A1.
During this session we covered rich terrain and began to unstick ourselves from certain viewpoints.
Often, a landscape is a glamorised representation of the space around us. An exemplar example of a place or point in time. It is human nature to slip into a mindset that thinks that the grass is always greener (on the other side).
How does the other side look? And would it be as good as we imagined it would be once we get there.
I focused on my use of materials for this session and how each medium interacted with each other until the page was filled with something that didn’t exist.
