This is an umbrella.

The following paragraphs are inverted descriptions of the object you see above. By inverted I mean that the words one would usually use are forbidden. I wondered wether I could still offer an accurate description of this particular object. Does essence count for something here? Can inanimate objects portray something beyond its tangibility?



I have extracted three sentences that speak to my current practice.

‘Tear the two textures apart, softly. You’ll see something that wasn’t as bad as you thought. Don’t always see in micro.’
I have since transferred the words onto the surfaces I believe they perform best on. The varied positions alter the way in which the words can be understood.
