My material exploration thus far has considered the varying texture of skin; the dry and porous appearance of cotton & synthetic mix closely imitates that of the semi-permeable membrane that is the epidermis.

Skin, however is a changeable interface that responds not only to what is required in the inside, but it is also affected by external conditions. In order to reflect that in the appearance of the skin hangings (weave works) I have endeavoured to resemble how mucus and other bodily lubricants sit upon the skin.

(dicuss elkins note on mucus – vaseleen and coated fabric samples)

Pervious though it may be, the layering of such wet matter is not immediately absorbed into the material, and so another layer is created.
