Maquette / Miniaturisation / Multiplication

I made these out of foraged coffee stirrers. For my purposes these shapes were perfect. Like miniature picket sticks.

Following the interim exhibition I wanted to refine the composition of sticks. I envisaged them to form a sort of spiral or ticking clock hand shape. Tessellating on top of each other. In life size it would form an alternative to the cross configuration. Alone, or plinthed these working miniatures looked like a shit snowflake. This is not a Christmas craft. My vision did not see through. As it turns out, its hard to materialise an outcome. Let alone a miniaturised version of it.

But when placed in conjunction with the larger scale sticks and paper cut outs, they made more sense visually. The mini sticks adorning the larger scale ones formed a branch like growth. Like propagation, these are something that begins to spawn from itself.
