I began to make new shapes. Here are some notable ones. I have been asked in the studio how I cut the shapes. My answer is with scissors. I think of Matisse. I don’t draw on the paper stock first, I simply cut moving my wrist to form the curves and straight edges. The paper that is left does not get thrown away. It is important for me to keep them, they restore some sort of balance when the paper gets nailed to the wall. Positive and negative space, co-existing together. On a technical note, the stencils remain in my possession in case I want to recreate an exact replica of a past shape.

The space I am working with now is unlike the previous installation. Rather than the starting point towering over you, I worked with my natural height. With no aid of the ladder. I was able to span wider in spur F, I felt as if the wall belonged to me. Or I belonged to it.

The way the light interacts with the paper is becoming increasingly important to me. New shadows would appear with each addition to the wall.
